Really disappointed with the siting of the bookies at this meeting. They were much better positioned when they were the other side of the paddock where you could view the horses, have a bet and then not too far to watch the race.
Yesterday it was long trek up hill to do all three and I am sure many of the big crowd did not even know where the bookies were.
One bookie told me if they were in the same place next year they would not operate
Dingleykid - thank you for your comment, some of us were discussing this yesterday and agree. It will be discussed at our next committee meeting. I think they were put there as a reaction to the wet year we had last year! Other than that, hope you had a good day. We were so lucky with the weather
Going update, as of today Saturday 8th March 10 a.m., GOOD, GOOD TO SOFT IN PLACES. Temp today and tomorrow of 16C.We have a lot of new stores and food outlets, including Indian Street Food, and of course the RUGBY on a BIG SCREEN.
I have just spoken to the Clerk of the Course - the going as of Friday afternoon is good to soft, soft in places. He is going to post a going description on Midlands Pointing in the morning.
As of today, WEDNESDAY 5TH MARCH, the going at Guilsborough is GOOD TO SOFT, SOFT IN PLACES and is improving daily. The forecast is dry up to, and including, race day with highs of up to 18C.
As of 1 p.m. today, Friday 28th February, the going remains SOFT following rain on Wednesday. The weather between now and the fixture is dry apart from the possibility of light rain the day before the fixture, with temperatures reaching double figures each day.
