Only three in the last and el capitaine likely to be long odds on so I’m heading back up the m5
Six books but plenty of value. Moderate crowd on chilly day. Wonderful setting on the edge of Dartmoor, proper old fashioned course and I highly recommend a visit. I’d never been before last year but came straight back!
Winner left in lead after how to get away had crashing fall five out (horse got up immediately, didn’t see what happened to jockey). Runner up looked going best when jumping to lead three out and at second last but liberty rock found more. Favourite never got in a blow.
Sorry no distances/times. They’re not posted anywhere and I keep missing them being announced!
Another fine ride by James on the quirky but talented winner, normally the mount of will Biddick, who he was riding for the first time. Started slowly (as usual) but soon made up ground and looked winner from four out. Mistake at second last didn’t help favourite but he probably wouldn’t have won anyway. Young buck and pirates tale both departed at first
Fine display of front running and jumping from the winner under his improving pilot. Second looked indolent on first circuit but made rapid late headway. Favourite never looked likely winner
Well backed Welsh raider made most again to score by about five lengths from fast finishing market rival, despite slow jumps at last two. Rosietokem just pipped carry on beauty for third (I think)
