Extra races at PTP's
Instead of Camel Racing or races for trainers (which never filled) how about a Flat race for "Stable Staff" after the Pony Races ?

Nice idea Gordon but almost certain to be dominated by work riders from pro ( or semi pro ) yards.
We need to find ways of bringing in participants from other equestrian disciplines. The Beaufort race for riders without cat A or B licences is a great initiative that seems to be well supported and I don't understand why it hasn't been adopted by other meetings?
The majority of riders nowadays work full time in the racing industry and are spending several hours a day riding race horses alongside professional jockeys and work riders.
This continues to drive away the genuine amateur who are more likely to have their own horses...... and at the end of the day the sport is in much greater need of horses than it is riders.
