The PPA's Response to the Trail Hunting Consultation
The recent statement issued by the PPA raises a number of important questions for all those involved in our sport.
Whilst the statement acknowledges the potential implications of the consultation, it appears to stop short of demonstrating the urgency and leadership that this situation demands. Many within the sport may question whether the response amounts to little more than a neutral position at a time when a coordinated and robust defence of point-to-point racing is required.
Where, for example, is the formal submission from the PPORA, who exist to represent many of us and whose own future could be directly affected? Equally, has enough been done by our governing bodies to encourage every Hunt and Point-to-Point Committee to submit its own individual response to the consultation before the deadline?

Agree with BMD.
The PPORA have confirmed their position of support, and continue to support the CA& BHSA campaign via social media urging everyone to participate in the consultation.

As we enter the final week of the government’s trail hunting consultation process, the Point-to-Point Authority (PPA) would like to urge as many people as possible to take part.

Not that it will do any good but I have emailed the PPA expressing my disappointment that they have not seemingly taken a proactive approach in putting forward any plans to mitigate the risks that the Ban would have on Pointing. Perhaps they have been lobbying behind the scenes to protect our Sport? If so, it would be good to know!
Pointing at Towcester
In today's Racing Post there was an article on Towcester in the Greyhound section and it said that pointing would be held at Towcester next year. https://www.racingpost.com/greyhounds/towcester-team-ready-to-go-for-derby-again-says-davis-aVLCD6v3ef6w/
I had heard that Towcester were hoping for a Boxing Day point to point fixture this year, however, being located roughly half way between the established Christmas fixtures at Chaddesley and Horseheath was not doing them any favours. So it looks like they have rolled their expectations on to early next year.
Not clear whose fixture it would be. It appears to have been planned since before the sale of the Edgcote estate was announced.

How come the Irish sales houses got so upset about the UK suggesting that their bio security wasn’t up to scratch and yet they are announcing from the rostrum when a horse’s vaccinations aren’t complete 🤷♀️
