Ashley Dascombe
I must admit I hadn't come across Ashley's name before, but by accident I was watching some jumps action at Trentham in New Zealand last night and the presenter mentioned that British point-to-point jockey Ashley Dascombe was having his first ride in the race. Given he had only had 1 winner in points and 45 rides I thought he looked very tidy and he won the race in a great battle with the favourite. Sadly the stream ended just after the finish so I couldn't hear any interview after the race. Ellie Callwood who will be a more familiar name also had a ride in the race as well as a couple of other races on the card.
