Back in time on a Sunday evening

This was handed to me by my landlady, it’s a copy of the original, maybe of interest to anyone with an interest in a bit of history. There are some familiar names on the officials list. After some ferreting around on the interweb I realised that the Midland Sportsman’s Race was the one in which a character called Captain “Bay” Middleton, famous for his derring do on horseback, and possible liaison with the Empress of Austria, was killed in a fall from his horse. This would explain why there are no pencil marks on the third race. The course is only a few miles from my home. The field boundaries are almost identical to those of today when viewed on google earth, apart from one section of the course which is now in DM (MOD) Kineton, the largest ammunition depot in Western Europe!

Meeting fully documented in the JFF archive (still accessible). I'm sure Michael Kutapan would appreciate a copy for the list of maps thread on there.
