Blue mic
Whilst the Racing TV slot seems a missed opportunity I do think the Blue mic works well on the whole and it seems they are signing up people to cover the areas whilst giving them some vital media experience. Seems a bit like how Non-League Football sides get young volunteers to do the media for them.
Do have to love though the false love for the 0-110 series and trying to make out 6 runners was a great turnout.

On the one hand I don't recall seeing too much output from Sean Tasker-Brown at Hexham on his Northern Area debut for the service (I'm happy to be directed to what I missed if there was actually loads).
On the other hand, I'm very pleased he filmed the excellent Mike Crolla in action during his commentary on the Mixed Open.
I suspect it wouldn't be the norm for all commentators on the professional roster to be able to hold both a microphone and a pair of binoculars at the same time; much less keep both steady on a less than warm day; much less still deliver a perfect conclusion to his commentary.
Mike was typically modest about his gifts when replying to commenters on Sean's footage (including one Simon Holt, no less), reasoning that the hand-held mics are familiar to him from trotting events. Even so, I'm hoping that enough of the right people are getting to see this. There can't be (m)any better not on the roster at the time of writing.
