Warwick Hunter Chase Meeting

PPA Announcement

Warwick HC evening live on ITV

They say every cloud has a silver lining and the loss of Cheltenham as host venue for the annual hunter chase evening has led to ITV racing showing 5 of the 7 Warwick races live as part of its Friday Night Live racing initiative which is aimed at the 16 to 25 age group. The first time the show has featured jumps racing.

Tiggy Vale Titterton Head of Digital content at the PPA takes up the story " the hunter chase evening has alway been about music and partying and we had been trying to get the Friday Night Live people on board especially as Megan started her career riding in points. Unfortunately Cheltenham would not play ball as it would have meant renegotiating the existing ITV media rights. Amazingly, Warwick has embraced the idea wholeheartedly and is offering all sorts of incentives to students from Warwick and the surrounding universities and the whole thing is going to be a huge party."

Coverage on ITV 4 will begin an hour before the first race backed by a 2 for the price of 1 deal for alcholic drinks across all racecourse bars.  Regular host Megan Nichols will be joined by Tiggy and various PPA folk and the show will include music, fashion and a Love Island themed dating competition with the winning couple being offered a contract to join the Blue Mic team for the 26/27 season.

CEO Paul Miller summed things up by saying " some of the pointing tradionalists have struggled to understand  what Tiggy and her team have been striving towards well this is it, and the moment when we step out of the point to point bubble and engage with a much wider audience".
