Anyone wishing to have a "free pass" for Hexham 13/04/26 should apply before Noon Thursday 09/04/26 as I have to submit the list to Hexham Racecourse Friday AM !!
Hexham Racecourse has kindly given us a table in The Curlew room again this year π
Currently on the list is:
Gordon Phillips
Andrew Russell
Izzy Russell
Looks a very competitive renewal. Maybe the Irish will dominate again although my main pick is Barton Snow in the hope he stays.
My preview is here if anyone wants to read it https://forum.punterslounge.com/topic/193742-road-to-the-cheltenham-festival-hunter-chase-2026/#comment-3158854
There will be an amount of of passes available for initially people who have donated to the Sponsorship Fund inΒ that we are over subscribed I will arrange a draw, if any remain I will then offer them to all Forum members on a first come first served basis.
Please add your name in the comments box below if you would like a pass.
For those that will be attending this Friday passes are to be collected from the office just outside the entrance to the course. Tell them that you are with Pointing Pointers and give them your name and they will check you off the list that I have provided them with. Once again Trudi is going to reserve us a table in βThe Adrian Flux Barβ and our table is usually in the far left hand corner coming in from the main entrance into the the bar. As usual we will be picking the BTO and presenting the trophy for our race.
Here is a copy of an email that I received from Catterick Racecourse:
THANK YOU
Hello Gordon,Β
I hope you're well.Β
Thank you again to you and all at Pointing Pointers for your support of our Hunters' Chase race yesterday! It was lovely to see you again - I hope you all enjoyed your afternoon and that everything met your expectations.Β
Please find some photos from the day attached, and I will be posting a copy of the presentation photo onto you.
Runs in the hunter chase at Southwell today, but the BHA have told connections they aren't allowed to run at the Cheltenham or Aintree Festivals because he often has to be treated for post race ataxia. How can it be that he is allowed to run at any other meeting apart from the big two? Either it is safe for him to race or it isn't. Doesn't sit well with me.

Bad news for us but good news for Catterick Racecourse as they have sold all their boxes this year so we miss out unfortunately. I suggest that we use The Horseshoe Bar as our meeting point for the afternoon.

Currently 8 of the 10 free passes taken !! This is the last call for donators before they are opened up to the whole forum.
Almost a Veterans Chase this. Joe has already made Time Leader a non runner.
I think Jet Plane will win, but don't think he's any value at the price so leaving the race alone at this stage
So Joe has entered most of his stable and all have different jockeys booked up. Very odd move
As we approach our first sponsored Hunterchase of the season on 15/01/16/ this is the place to register your interest in receiving a free pass and racecard generously donated by Ludlow Racecourse if you have donated to the sponsorshipI have 10 so if you would like to like one please comment below. If more than 10 people apply there will be a draw and you will be informed at least two days before. If however less than 10 apply the remaining passes will be opened up to ALL forum members.
This Morning I have booked sponsorship of the Hunterchase at Catterick 04/03/26 which now gives us a total of 7 for the 2026 Hunterchase Season

Well done Gordon and thanks to everyone who contributed π
Looking forward to meeting up with fellow forum folk at a couple of the fixtures.
Happy New Year to you all. No doubt on most people's wish list is a bit more rain and a bit less sub zero temps!
This week in Dark Horses we had winning selections in One of Interest and GB Pointers. In The News has an article about Paddy Barlow from the Horse and Hound
Did you spot Maelstrom's excellent Yorkshire Area seasonal preview?
The hunter chase season starts at Taunton on Thursday and hopefully we can all enjoy Darren's and others' thoughts on these races. This means the Morris Brothers' Hunter Chase comp is nearly upon us and a group has been set up to host the entries. Everyone is welcome to join the group if you want to keep an eye on how all the competitors are gettting along. If you are a competitor that is where you will be putting your selections up so you will nβ¦

Seems like the Exeter P2P bumper has gone then given the Aintree one is there although the Warwick series final still isn't listed.
Thanks to your very generous donations we have very recently added Leicester 12 February to our portfolio.
For the fourth year running (two as Jumping For Fun) we are crowd funding sponsorship of a number of hunter chases to emphasise the links between pointing and racing under rules.
All the racecourses are vey supportive and give us a (varying) number of tickets for raceday and quite often some sort of hospitality Everyone who donates to the sponsorship can apply for tickets to go and we have a ballot if any meeting is over subscribed. More details will be published before each race day.
As well as the restricted final at the Stratford Hunter Chase evening, we are delighted that we have raised enough already to add Wincanton (25 February), Hexham (13 April) and can now add Leicesterβs Dick Saunders on (12 February) to the racecourses we are sponsoring at. Weβ¦
I have already donated, but I will be spending my winning Β£80 bet from last season's competition with Tony at Chaddesley next week. If it wins I will donate more to the fund
For the fourth year running we are sponsoring a series of hunter chases to emphasise the link between pointing and rules racing. Having had 2 successful seasons under the Jumping For Fun banner we went under the Pointing Pointers brand last year and will be doing that again this season.
Last season we raised enough to sponsor 6 races thanks to your generosity..it would be fantastic to beat that this year.
Anyone who would prefer not to use Just Giving (which means that we do not pay commission on donations it is possible on Just Giving to leave no tip π) are welcome to call me on 07557982392 and I will give you my Bank Details and you can pay me and I will transfer the money into our central bank fund that is held by another member of the team......https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/robert-mackenzie-4?fbclid=IwY2xjawOJg2xleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETB2Q0tmcUtzVXlXQzUwcFQ3c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHiC1M3aDsNU1RI95k9R4jkHAINecJvudONUOiwfaRgGwvLJzpSOb0Lj59TjV_aem__UZuLBYDner_WDO9NTwo_g#sharePage
