Going UPDATE

GOING REMAINS GOOD TO FIRM / GOOD IN PLACES. Watering will continue all week to maintain or improve the going, if the current weather conditions will allow. All fences and bends have been moved to fresh ground. The course has been levelled, mown and watered this week. (Wed 8th April)NOTE: After BHA measuring, the Mixed Open will be run over 2 miles 6 furlongs.

GOOD FRIDAY APRIL 3rd  

GOING UPDATE: GOOD / GOOD TO FIRM IN PLACES. Watering. Some light rain last night and drizzle has fallen over the last 3 days about 3mm. Current forecasts up to racing remains overcast but predominantly dry with a chance of drizzle or light rain including on race day . Watering is proceeding well and we expect to have eased the quicker ground by tomorrow morning. (Wed 1st Apr)

ESSEX & SUFFOLK at HIGHAM RACECOURSE on GOOD FRIDAY APRIL 3rd  

GOING UPDATE: GOOD TO FIRM / GOOD IN PLACES. Some light rain last night and further rain expected later today, with rain also forecast for Friday and Saturday. Current forecast for the week up to racing is overcast but predominantly dry. We are prepared to water after the weekend if required and the forecasts do not change. (Wednesday 25th March)

Going( as at Friday March 20th )

GOOD: Watering to maintain. Cooler day (Friday 20th) we started watering yesterday to maintain good ground. We will top up watering where needed over the next two days.

Watering to start Thursday afternoon, looking at putting 4-8mm down. The higher amount from the open ditch on the back straight to fence 5

After this afternoon's BHA course inspection the going is GOOD to SOFT/ GOOD in places. (Wednesday 4th March )

After light showers overnight the going remains GOOD to SOFT /GOOD in places.

The course has been walked today and the current going is GOOD to SOFT, GOOD in places. We do not imagine this changing before race day on Sunday.

On 30th January had 6mm of rainfall. Forecasts are unsettled with light rain or drizzle possible daily

HAMILTON BLOODHOUNDS at HIGHAM on SATURDAY FEBRUARY 7^th

GOING UPDATE: GOOD / GOOD TO SOFT IN PLACES (Wed 28th Jan). 

27th January 14.5 mm of rainfall fell. Forecasts Unsettled from Sunday 1st February until Wednesday 4th February with a possibility of a further 10mm of rainfall in total during this period. Currently forecasts predominately dry from Wednesday 4th to race day with temperatures above freezing.

HAMILTON BLOODHOUNDS are the new hosts for the first of two meetings being held at Higham racecourse, on the Suffolk/Essex border which takes place on Saturday February 7th.
